Did You Know? The UV Index is a simple way of expressing the sunburning potential of ultraviolet radiation at the Earth's surface. It is expressed as a number from 1 (very low) to 11+ (extremely high). In Canada, the UV Index usually varies between 1 and 10 and is included in weather forecasts whenever a value of 3 or higher is expected. The Canadian index was adopted by the World Meteorological Organization and World Health Organization and is now used worldwide.

About Us
Green Gatherings was founded in spring 2007 out of a desire to prevent global climate change and build thriving, sustainable rural communities. The group currently meets in either Brookfield or Middle Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, (alternating months) and is completely open to the public, especially those in surrounding communities and in the beautiful Stewiacke Valley. This Web page is a place for us to post news of our activities and collect useful resources. If you would like to know more about Green Gatherings, we encourage you to attend one of our meetings or email us.
